Memorial Walk July 22

The Hawkins family are doing a memorial walk in Carey's memory on July 22nd. We invite all of those that would like to to do their own walk when they have time that day. Doesn't matter if its a 5 minute or 1 mile walk. If you would like to participate in the walk, you may.

Everyone! Please pray today for Cale Hayward. He is struggling and needs our support. Don't let this brother and son be overlooked. He is my brother Carey's best friend. My brother Carey passed in 2009. I pray that Cale stays alive!

Visiting Carey's grave

Monday evening, we visited Carey's grave. We talked and visited. We talked about the cabin, which Carey loved. We listened to someone play their bag pipe nearby, and laughed, and Carey would have laughed along with us watching the old guy do his little jig to the music. The kids ran and played in the grass and Carey would have loved to run along with them as well. We sent off balloons to the heavens. The sky was beautiful and looking over the Heber Valley that evening was beautiful. Carey would have loved all of it.

one year later...

It's been a year since we lost my little brother. It's been a year of heartaches, trials, tears, smiles, laughter, growth, change and peace. I saw him in a home video last night and my heart ached at not being able to get a great big Bear hug from him. We love and miss you Care Bear!!! Not a day goes by that we don't think about you!
